Pushcart Nomination #2

When my poem “Cousin Margaret’s Friend, 1955” was nominated by Poetry South for a Pushcart Prize in 2017, I floated on cloud nine for a couple of weeks, and figured that was the one time in my life that a poem of mine would be nominated. But along comes 2018 and word from Mary Meriam at Lavender Review that she has nominated “At Roslindale Station” for a Pushcart. Now of course, being the ambitious soul that I am, I’m wondering if I might win a Pushcart someday. Ah, the peril of escalating desires and expectations.
